A quick look through the menu and you will discover that the latest beta from Microsoft does not have a familiar and well used feature: Movie Maker. It may be something that is planned for later release but there is also the possibility that movie maker, along with several other native feaures are about to go missing in the the new OS-forever!

Why would Microsoft lean down the system in such a way? Simple: too many complaints about bogged down OS, slow boot times, useless features, etc. The solution “Live.com” Here many of the programs that used to be installed on your system can be accessesd and used online, or downloaded if you want them. The result gives those who whined about too much “junk” on their system something to smile about. For everyone else there is a happy ending to the story at Live.com.

Of course there is more than just a few familiar apps on live, you will also see a search engine, suggestions and content designed to make things easier via a web browser. The DVD maker is still present in Windows 7, so that seems to be somethign they decided to keep.  You might also want to take a look at notepad, it received a facelift as well. Video on the sub features will be out later this week!

Happy Beta Testing!
